Several years ago, I heard about the FlyLady. She was flying into homes and changing lives. The beginning of the year, I decided to attempt her plan again. In the past, I had my own way of doing things but as time has gone by, and adding a few more kiddos, I'm ready to attempt FlyLady again. I'm always open to ideas for organizing a family of 8.I've done really well for the most part...cleaning out closets, drawers, under the bed, and giving things away (and even throwing things away..a hard one). I'm a very organized person when it comes to organizing events or fundraisers. But when it comes to homeschooling and "training little tornadoes" running through the house as fast as you can blink (Tornado Alaina, Tornado Hudson, and Tornado Benjamin), well...it's a much more challenging task for me. It's just easier sometimes to do it yourself instead of taking time to teach the little ones their responsibilities.
So I'm learning to FLY and "Bless My Home." Notice I'm writing little phrases? If you spend any time on FlyLady, you will become more familiar with her language.
It really works. Organizing your thoughts (Control Journal). Your time. Your kids. Your husband. AND YES....even yourself.
After Linny and DW's fire, I have become more determined to make it happen. Their house was destroyed and they are grieving the loss of the things they loved and cherished. It's really helped me to think about what is important in our home....and to bless our home and family with a different attitude.
Continue to pray for Linny and DW as they begin to go through their home searching for things and making lists of items that were destroyed. My heart hurts with them.
