I love SNOW!!

I just do. Always have. I love snow! Only God could create something so beautiful.
You won't catch me outside during a snow storm but I will be sitting by the window, in awe of God's creation...sipping on hot chocolate.

Zachary, Joel B. and Alaina, on the other hand, love going outside, no matter what.

Yesterday, I helped the boys make business cards and they walked around passing them out to the neighbors. They were up this morning, walking the neighborhood, carrying their snow shovels. I'm so proud of them.

You know, some days you just feel overwhelmed with being a homeschool mom of 6 kids and well, it's just hard sometimes. But when you get an email like this one from a neighbor, life is good.

" You should be proud of your sons, they worked hard, did a good job and shook my husband's hand afterwards and thanked him! Wonderful!" Thank you, Janet!

Alaina went out for a little while and the snow was over her knees in some spots. She said she tried to swing on the swing set but her feet touched the snow. Too funny.

Our busy little family is on the go so often that I welcome staying home, all snowed in with my little people. We continued with our homeschool just like it was a regular day. Love it 'cause we can do that.

Stay tuned for more snow pictures. We should be getting more of the same in a few days.

And guess who is turning "sweet 16" in two days?

Let it snow...in December!

The weekend of Benjamin's birthday, it snowed 18 inches! I LOVE snow. Can't get enough....as long as I'm in doors with a fire and hot chocolate.

Is it a donut or a bagel?

The first morning, we woke up to even more snow. Zachary, Joel B and the boys' friend next door, decided they were going to shovel driveways. 18 inches of snow, I remind you. While we watched them cross our front yard and culdesac, struggling to get up to the neighbors long driveway, Joel and I talked how we hoped they came home and wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer or something. We knew that this driveway would be enough manual labor...so we thought. They surprised us. They really enjoyed themselves and actually came home sweating. They were so excited, so we allowed them to adventure out and do another. Each neighbor was soooo generous. They came home with cookies, hot chocolate, and $50 each!!! It took them all day, and they were exhausted. Then, the next day, Alaina was so excited to layer in several layers and snow boots. Cute, cute. She and Joel B had so much fun. These two are the siblings that are always aggravating each other but they are also the closest...and can have the most fun.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! I want more.

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Taken while in China July 2008

Since the kids were sick this weekend, we didn't get to celebrate with our FCC group...boohoo. There were 80 people there and many more were coming but apparently, were sick, too.

Thankfully, since Chinese New Year celebration last a whole week, we are hoping to celebrate sometime this week. The kids always enjoy wearing their outfits (well, the older boys are not always thrilled about that part) and eating at a Chinese Restaurant.

Happy Chinese New Year!! Hope you have a fun week!!

Waiting for snow....

Our little Snow Family is waiting for snow...We continue to look outside...
Staying warm and hoping...
Waiting and praying...
as our singing clock plays songs at the top of each hour 24/7.
And so far, we have not had any snow this winter. We are still hopeful...
