Take one last look...

I'm getting a new blog design and Alexis is making changes this evening. I've loved my browns and blues so I will miss it...for a few hours..haha. We found a really cute digital kit and my girl has made it sooooo fun. I can't wait for you to see it.

Alexis has been sooooooo busy creating designs for bloggy friends that she has not had time to work on my website. If you have a second, go and take a look at all the designs she has done in just a few months. The girl amazes me with her ability. She's one smart girl. Always has been. I'm not surprised. :) All her 'customers' are so happy and just love working with her because she is eager to make them happy. I'm probably the hardest and the pickiest..poor girl. But she is patient with me and is eager to please...even her mom. :)

We are getting ready to switch the domain name to the newly 'under construction' site. Alexis has created the design but is sort of waiting on me to update the information. Boy, I didn't realize how outdated my website is....and the advertisements at the top...well they just got to go. Webs.com gives free sites...with advertisements at the top. How embarrassing. I told Joel that I have seen ads for a range of products consisting of adoption agencies to hemorrhoid medicine. So yeah, we got to get our new website done soon. LOL

I created it to help others in their adoption process or encourage others to have a heart for those left behind. Many have read our site through the years and have been encouraged....and eventually decided to adopt. So, it's been a good thing through the years but like everything, needs a new look and some tender care right now. :) The China adoption process has changed so much and the info on our website just needs updated.

So, hopefully soon, I can encourage Alexis to help me make that happen. It's fun having a daughter that can do these things for you. It's our bonding time sometimes, while we drink hot chocolate and talk.

Ok...stay tuned. Sometime today, she will add my new look to the blog...and hopefully within the month, I can show you my new website, too. I'm so excited!! Will keep you posted. :)

When you least expect it...

Webs finally changed my website...since I didn't pay to renew...and I have those not-so-wonderful ads at the top...boohoo. Alexis is sooooo busy now working on our new friends' blogs that she doesn't have time for her Mama's website. What to do...sigh.

I'm very, very proud of my girl. She creates up a storm in her free time. Thank you all so much for encouraging her with your thoughtful comments. She smiles when she reads them. She's happy. Happy helping others. We are still praying with her for direction about her next mission trip...or what special orphan she will support.

Our church youth group is going on a trip this summer in the U.S. Our youth pastor wants our ministry dance team to go! Pray with us...for direction.

After spending so much time with Steve this week, Alexis and I especially, are ready to pack our bags and head on to China with Steve and family.

There are so many orphans to sponsor. So many that need parents.

You know you are in the ministry you are suppose to be in if your heart is heavy...and excited at the same time.

Saying goodbye to our website as we know it...

We created our website in 2006 to share our story and encourage others to find their little ones through adoption. In the next few weeks, we are updating the information and Alexis is going to basically, create a blog site makeover for me!

Today, at 19,826 hits, our website service expires and I am not paying to continue. With Freewebs, our website will remain but it will have not- so- pleasant advertisements at the top.

Freewebs is free if you don't mind the ads at the top. Soon after creating our website in 2006, I quickly paid for their yearly service of about $50 to have more space and bandwidth...and not to have those terrible ads at the top.

Well, take one last look at it as we know it. Our sweet 15 year old Alexis is going to create a beautiful blog site for us. It will have the same links and information as our website and actually will look just like our current website, just a little updated and a lot more attractive. There is sooo much to do to make that happen. If you know anything about websites, you know that copying 133 pages is overwhelming. I want to preserve the journaling and carry over most of it to the new blog site.

As I have been working on this overwhelming project, I'm so blessed to re-read about God's many blessings and miracles in our lives. Journaling is so important. It reminds us how God cares so much and His will is best for us. As we read through our journaling, we see God's hand so clearly in our past. Journaling is something that can be passed down for many generations, teaching our children what a wonderful, amazing God we serve.

Pray for me as I 'gather up' my journals and seek wisdom how to best preserve them. What a blessing it has been for me to read them again. I'm praising God for His grace, love and strength each day. I'm looking forward to my new website look...but will miss the little fluttering butterflies on our current website. Bye bye little flutter friends.
I will miss you.
