Our friends John and Cheryl are home with baby Jada! I don't think I mentioned before that little Jada is our "niece." All the babies that are coming home due to Alaina's charm, I call them my nieces. One of our very first adoption seminars, John and Cheryl felt led to adopt from China. At the time, the wait was only 6 months after paperwork. We did the seminar summer of 2005 so you do the math...ugh. They were logged in January 06 so basically it took them over 2 1/2 years. In the mean time, God brought them three beautiful siblings. In the summer of 05, John and Cheryl had one daughter and now they have five children..PTL!
You know, we were so close not adopting from China. First, I can't imagine my life without our three little ones. If our domestic adoptions would have worked out or we would have chosen another country, I believe Alaina, Hudson, Benjamin and 20 plus kids from China would not have a mommy and a daddy. God does the calling. Joel and I just joined Him where HE was working. Many of our seminar families are still waiting. Hang on. It won't be long. When it happens, when you finally have her/him in your arms, the long wait will soon be forgotten.
We are thankful to God for giving us Alaina and giving her this amazing charm and sweetness about her. It really does encourage others to want to buy those plane tickets to China.
Jada, we can't wait to meet you. You are beautiful!!
