Alaina's First Day at School...and more!

We have had a busy weekend getting ready for school. Alaina has grown so much this summer and needed some shoes and clothes. We were running around from store to store and she has been so excited.

Saturday, August 23, 2008 She has said several times that she is going to miss her baby brothers. On Saturday, they had a 'beauty shop' day and she styled their hair. Hudson is holding pretend scissors just in case you are wondering.

Benjamin's hair is getting so long! Yes, those are hair curlers, thanks to Alaina. Then she served them pretend Pizza Hut pizza.
Later that day at nap time, Benjamin, again climbed out of his Pack n Play (still in our bedroom) and decides to take a nap on the floor with his legs under our bed. He was so tired and didn't wake up when I put him in his bed. Since then, he has climbed out everyday!! He does it with such ease. We talk firmly to him and put him back in his bed. We are now considering putting him in a toddler bed and putting up a gate. Any suggestions would be great.

He is such a good boy and so sweet. Both of my baby boys love to hug me throughout the day. I love how they play together and laugh at each other all day. Benjamin loves to laugh and has a sense of humor. Hudson is just old enough to remind Benjamin to be a good boy.

Sunday after church, he modeled Alaina's shoes through the house with ease.
He and Hudson love Barney. Benjamin especially loves Baby Einstein videos.

Alaina's First day at school...

Today, Alaina enjoyed her first day of school. She got up at 6:45AM and was very happy about her day. She went to bed last night with a smile on her face.

Here is her cute little container cup that she and Alexis decorated. She said they put their crayons, glue sticks and scissors in the container. I really like how it turned out so cute.

We decided that Joel would drive her to school in the van. The older boys wanted to ride along and Joel B was the photographer. Volunteer moms greeted the kids and walked them to the cafeteria where they met their class...and then walked to their class together. It appears that Alaina was introducing herself to the sweet mom...and probably telling her all about her morning.
Her teacher emailed me and told us that Alaina went fast asleep at rest time. Sounds like they had a full and busy day. She had the biggest smile when she got off the bus. We greeted her with the camcorder and ask her a million questions. She only responded with smiles and not many answers. Later, she opened up and shared more details. She told us all about what she had for lunch..and what she didn't eat. She told us what she did in PE..or what she didn't do. They were suppose to act like animals but Alaina said she just stood and watched because she was "shy." I'm sure her "shyness" will end soon. Very funny. She told me all about the bathroom rules and more.
After she got home, we had some more running around to do. She sat between her two baby brothers in the van with her arms stretched out as far as they could go, like she was trying to put her arms around them. She said they were her favorite brothers and she missed them so much. This evening, she pretended she was a teacher and the baby boys were her class. They were so cute following their sister's lead.

Hudson is now Zachary's assistant in the kitchen. He does a great job at putting the silverware away.

I can not believe that he is climbing out of the bed. Miss Talicee has never even attempted doing that. She even still has her bumperpads in there. The parent that Alaina is talking to is one of my customers. How funny. I am glad she had a great day. I can't believe that she is in kindergarten. Time is flying.
