Here is her little cubby at the very bottom where she will put all her things. The teacher gave each child a container to take home to decorate and bring back on Monday. I think it's going to hold their crayons or markers. She's looking forward to decorating her container. She and Alexis already have plans for decorating it.
Alaina was very nervous about meeting her teacher even though she has spent time with her when the older kids went to school there. Her teacher has always been very friendly when she sees us. When Alaina was a baby, she thought Alaina was so cute in her squeaky shoes. I secretly was hoping we would get her..shshsh.The curriculum they are using is Sing, Spell, Read and Write which is the one that I have used for years with my kiddos when they were little. Alaina is familiar with all the songs already. I think she will be reading in a few weeks. She is so ready to get started.
After we visited with the teacher and saw her classroom, the parents had an orientation meeting in the library. The school is absolutely beautiful and is so blessed to have such large rooms. The teachers encouraged us by sharing the plans for the year. It's evident that they really do love our kids.
Alaina was so happy to see Catie and Caroline. They are her good friends and neighbors. She is a little disappointed that they are not in the same class with her but happy that she will see them at lunch and on the bus.
After we got home, Alaina was trying on her new backpack. The little boys were wanting to wear one,too...so we pulled out some old ones and they modeled through the house.It's been a blue night for me but I know she will have a great time meeting new friends. My baby girl is growing up.
