First Day of Homeschool...

We had such a great first day of school! Zachary is 13 years old and should be in 8th grade. Several years ago, he basically skipped a grade and he started doing school with Alexis. So now they are doing 9th grade together. They help each other stay on the task as she might want to practice her dance or piano in the middle of lessons and he would prefer to be outside kicking a soccer ball or playing basketball in the foyer with Joel B. Together, they are great for each other and very supportive. Now, they are doing 9th grade BJU DVDs and it's working out great. We have been doing math for about 4 years all year long so they are now in Algebra II, an 11th grade class. We are very proud of them!

Joel B. wanted a new school room...so I took a spot in my office, near me and put his desk right in front of a window. We are still adding posters and maps to make it fun. He is enjoying the new bookshelf that I just bought at the charity store for $10. Slowly, we are figuring out what works in our homeschool. Every year is a new year!
We are proud of Joel B. as he is very focused to get his work done quickly. I think having him near me will encourage him not to "skip" forward on his DVDs...LOL. He's in 5th grade this year and 6th grade math. So far, we are loving our school year!
