Alaina shares Jesus...

Alaina, our imaginative, verbal, creative, 5 year old child (just like her big sis was at this age), is always talking. She is either talking to someone, her dolls or herself. She enjoys 'teaching' her dolls or her pretend friends about anything she is learning.

She loves teaching her baby brothers her Sunday school lessons or her new Spanish words for the day.

She is always singing...songs from school...Spanish songs, Phonics songs, Sunday school songs...any song.

One night right after I tucked her in bed, I could hear her singing loud enough for me to hear her outside her room. She made up a song that went something like this...

"Jesus is my savior and He took away my sin..."

I so wish I could remember the rest of it. I was changing Hudson's diaper in the bathroom and he was talking to me at the same time.

Then she began talking. Her conversation was something like this...

"Jesus and God are ONE."

"Oh wait...(small pause)."

"God is the Dad and Jesus is the Tid (Kid- she pronounces her 'K' like 'T')."

(Here she is already trying to figure out the Trinity.) She continues...

"I prayed to be saved a long time ago!"

"And...God is my salvation."

"Oh...(small pause) so does that mean I'm a Christian?"

"Yes, if you are saved, you are a Christian. Hmmm."

This conversation went on for a few minutes like this. I wish I had a recording of her sweet voice sharing her "knowledge" with her imaginary friend. If you didn't know better, you would have thought she was talking to someone.

I know Alaina has learned from our Bible stories with her and the kids' homeschool Bible lessons. Most of all, I believe she learns from Sunday Bible school and Awanas. Sunday Bible teachers...thank you!! Thank you for your obedience to serve. Thank you for loving our children. They are listening...and learning...and hiding His Word in their hearts more than we will ever know....on this earth.

How exciting to see those precious seeds begin to sprout and grow in our children's hearts.
