Alexis, Wow!! Linny's Blog Makeover...

Many times, Alexis and I look at each other at the same time and know what each other is thinking. God must be putting the same thoughts in our heads at the same time. Pretty neat. It happens all the time.

Right after Linny and DW got back from Uganda with their two little sweeties, Elizabeth and Elijah, their 8th and 9th child, Alexis and I were at the computer reading Linny's blog. As we were sitting there, Alexis said that she would like to do a blog makeover for Linny as a special gift. The idea was confirmed in my heart since I had the same thought at the same time. I know...weird. Only God could do that.
Alexis (and me,too!) think Linny and her family are such an amazing family. They love the Lord so much and their love for orphans is something we share. At that time, Alexis had not even started her blog design business. She had been dreaming about creating blog and website designs for months though....and praying about her purpose. She was so excited about the idea and how it would help Linny share her heart for the orphans.

Linny and family were really busy adjusting to having their new little ones so Alexis didn't get started right away. In January, Linny posted here that a sweet 15 year old wanted to give her a free blog makeover as a gift. Linny was so excited about it...and that made both of us very happy.

Well, the next day, a terrible fire took their log cabin home. As I have been following Linny's journaling everyday, my heart breaks for this family as they have lost everything. We all are very thankful that God saved their lives and all the children were rescued. The past two months, we have been so blessed by the stories Linny has shared of God's miracles in their lives.

Alexis has spent lots of time on the phone and email with Linny, getting to know their family and learning what design fits their family. Alexis has had so much fun decorating each child's picture. Linny picked a kit called Grandma's Lap, with lots of gingham. Very sweet. I think it turned out so sweet and Linny loves it!! After working with Alexis and seeing the final preview last night, Linny was ready to present her new blog.

Alexis presented Linny's new blog makeover this morning! She woke up early so she could get it all ready and surprise Linny. I would have loved to seen the smiles when Linny saw her new blog design...all complete.

Yesterday, Linny announced that their paperwork is on it's way to China for Jubilee, their 10th child. Today, the first day of Spring...was a perfect day for Alexis to present Linny's blog to her. What a way to celebrate Jubilee, celebrate spring, and celebrate Christ's miracles... a new beginning.

We love you, Linny! God Bless you as you follow Him.

Trina,
Your daughter is not only gifted but she is a treasure. Her blog makeover is absolutely gorgeous!! I love it and it is so totally ME!

She has such a sweet spirit and I am sure between that sweet spirit and her passion for the orphan that she and my Emmy would be great friends!

I do pray that one day I can truly hug your neck....

Much love, Linny

Trina,
Thanks for the comment on my page. We contacted the manager who then put us in contact with the marketing director. Our store does this about 2 - 3 times a month for all kinds of sports teams, our day was the 2nd for adoptive families. The key is that receipts have to be placed in a spirit box and the total of those receipts is what your percentage is based on not total store sales. So the advertising falls to you to get the word out as they will not advertise for you. The other family advertised heavily and had lots of people show but they did not market the key of "placing your receipt in the box" and their box only had a total of 10 receipts :(. It worth a shot!!!! Every penny helps!!!
