Today was Benjamin's day to go visit Dr. Steve for the first time.
Ms. Sherry asked Benjamin to step on the big scale. He weighs 24.2 pounds!!
Benjamin didn't like Dr. Steve poking around. When Steve and Rachel were at our house a few weeks ago, he played with them and ran through the house smiling at them. No smiles today!
Then...it only got worse. Dawn was so sweet and so apologetic that she couldn't find a vein. She tried once and then suggested we take him to a pediatric lab.
My little Benny was happy in my arms after that experience. Joel B traveled with me to take him to a pediatric lab across town. The nurse there tried a second time and no vein. The third time, bless his little heart, was a success. The nurse said we should say some prayers as the blood started coming out. I was praying so hard and sure enough He answered our prayers. Benjamin probably would ask why I didn't pray that hard the first time...
hmmm. Bless his heart.
