Our guest Lester III

On Friday, October 3, 2008, Lester III was welcomed into our home. Lester III is their Kindergarten class mascot and he wanted to visit our home for the weekend. Alaina had many plans to entertain Lester III during his visit with us. Right away, we knew he was a sweet leopard and would have lots of fun at our house with Alaina’s 5 siblings. Lester III enjoyed being with Alaina and he cried when Alaina would leave the room.Alaina took Lester III for a bike ride on Friday after school. Friday evening, we took him on a stroller ride with Alaina’s baby brothers, Hudson and Benjamin. He loved sitting on top of the stroller looking around. Lester III was really tired after we got home so he fell asleep in Alaina’s arms while watching TV. He was such a good sleeper, too. He and Alaina enjoyed snuggling under the covers on Saturday morning. On Saturday, Lester III enjoyed helping us with yard work and he loved riding the lawn mower with Dad. Lester was really cute when we put him in the wagon with the kids and pulled them around the cul-de-sac. In the afternoon, Lester III enjoyed helping Alaina build with Lincoln Logs and playing with her older brothers. He found it very fascinating watching the older boys, Zachary and Joel B play soccer. Lester III helped Alaina with her art contest drawing. He tasted a crayon but we caught him before he swallowed. He slept really well on Saturday night and was up early Sunday morning ready for church. The kids at church thought he was really cute. On Sunday night, Lester was so excited to go to Awanas at church. He learned that “S” is for Savior and even helped Alaina recite her Bible verse, 1 John 4:14: "The Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the World." Lester III couldn’t believe it when Alaina could recite such a long verse, John 3:16: "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son. Whosoever believes in him, will not perish but have everlasting life."After church on Sunday night, Lester wanted to go to Walmart with Mom, Alaina and Alaina’s older sister, Alexis. He tried climbing out of the shopping cart once so Alaina held him as we did our grocery shopping. She didn’t want him eating any of the food. He had a great nights sleep and was ready to go back home to his classroom. He will probably sleep for several days after our busy weekend. We have enjoyed Lester III so much and will miss him greatly! We know he will bring joy to everyone he meets.

We love you, Lester III!!
